I've loved fitness since high school, but really found a passion for it in 2008 when I started attending several classes a week at the gym I worked at. I decided to begin my professional fitness journey the Fall of '09 with the plan to start my career in group fitness with Zumba in addition to practical Pilates training, kickboxing and TRX. I then added an NASM personal training certification the fall of 2010.
I started a Zumba program at a facility (Capital City Fitness- no longer in operation) in 2010 and grew it to support three instructors offering five classes a week with up to 30 women per class. Zumba is my passion! I expanded my qualifications with Aqua Zumba in October 2016 and Strong by Zumba, a HiTT (tempo training) class, in 2017.
I attend Aqua Zumba and Zumba classes at my local YMCA when I am not teaching those formats to keep up on new choreography.
