I began teaching tennis in 1995 in my hometown in Switzerland. I quickly became involved in the tennis coaching career and obtained my first certificate the same year. I became a Swiss certified coach in 2000, when I left Switzerland to go to the U.S to compete at the college level under a full athletic scholarship. I played both in Laredo Community College, where I was the team captain and top-ranked singles player (ranked fifth in NJCAA Division I singles and 11th in doubles for the nation’s fourth ranked Palominos), and Florida International University, ranked nationally in the top 35 division I ranking. Both at LCC and FIU, I was honored with scholar-athlete honors and graduated in 2004 with a degree in psycholgoy.
While studying for my Master's degree in San José, California, I served as a tennis instructor at the Almaden Valley Athletic Club in San José, California. I demonstrate my qualifications and commitment to continual improvement as a tennis coach by becoming a certified tennis coach of the USPTA as well as the USPTR. In 2008, I was the women's tennis assistant Coach at Mills College in Oakland as well as the head coach of the Mills Community Tennis Program (MCTP provides free tennis instruction, mentoring and academic tutoring to disadvantaged youth from the Oakland Public Schools). I applied to PBI at the end of 2008 and had the opportunity to teach both in the United Arab Emirates and Switzerland. I also been serving as the Head Coach for the California Tennis Academy in Leysin, Switzerland, during the summers since 2000. My duties includes teaching group lessons and private, coordinating junior's daily programs.
