Evie is the Founder and Executive Director of Vibrations Dance Company - South Carolina’s only African-American influenced and directed dance company. Evie, a New York native, spent many years in Washington, D.C. where she began her dance training at the age of 11. She studied at the famous Jones-Heyward School of Ballet in Washington, D.C., home of the Capitol Ballet, the University of the District of Columbia, the renowned Dance Theatre of Harlem, Hines-Hatchett Connection, and at the respected dance department of Hunter College in New York City. Evie performed as a company member with Dance DC; the UDC Dancers; and with Hot Too Cold To Sweat in New York City. She was Founder and Artistic Director of Dance, Etc. in Washington, DC.
Evie and the company are approved artists with the South Carolina Arts Commission Artists-in-Residency educational program where she gives in-house dance residencies and performances at public schools throughout the state to teach children dance, movement, and various topics surrounding the art of dance.
Evie became a certified fitness instructor in 1994. During her employment as Aerobic Coordinator at Perez Health Club on Fort Jackson Army Post in Columbia, South Carolina, Evie received the Army's Master Fitness Trainer certificate. In 1998, Evie, along with two other certified co-workers began Perez Health Club’s first personal training program.
In 1997, Evie opened Vibrations Fitness and Dance, an urban workout studio providing fitness and dance classes for all levels and ages. In 2001, after successfully competing in her first National Physique Committee (NPC) Bodybuilding and Fitness Competition where she placed second, Evie decided to become a nationally certified personal trainer and fitness consultant. She has helped many individuals meet their health, fitness and weight loss goals through proper diet and nutrition as well vigorous cardio and weight lifting program
