Tina Marie Rowden

I was drawn to fitness in my early 20's, just as the fitness "craze" was beginning to become popular. Certification was not yet known, but I was able to get a basic certification through the YMCA. Later, I taught classes for many types of organizations, including corporate fitness programs, small women's clubs, large fitness clubs, and a rehab center for battered women. I have a B.A. in Foods and Nutrition from San Diego State University and took additional course work in kinesiology and body mechanics. I enjoy working with people and helping them achieve a positive attitude towards fitness and themselves. I see my role as an instructor as motivator and encourager. My current certification is through AFAA, with additional specialized certifications in Mat Science (yoga/pilates/stretch), STOTT pilates, Yang Short Form Tai Chi, kickboxing and weight training certifications.
