A Coach U Certified Graduate, Debra also holds a Masters degree in Sports and Exercise Psychology from Iowa State University. Prior to increasing her time speaking and writing, she owned and operated a business devoted to personal training, helping clients as a Clinical Exercise Specialist to overcome obstacles and achieve their physical best. As a Senior Lecturer in Kinesiology at ISU for 14 years, she taught core courses that prepare students for leadership roles in fitness and supervises student internships for health-fitness management majors. In addition to being an ACE faculty CEC provider, she is an international presenter at events including: IDEA Personal Training Congress and FACT Fest, Chicago, Ill (2002, 2003, and 2007, 2012, 2014), IDEA’s World Convention in San Diego (2004), and CAN-FIT-PRO in Toronto, Canada (2005, 2006) and National Strength and Conditioning Association’s Personal Training Congress (2008, 2009, and National 2015).She is also a presenter for the International Council on Active Aging (2013, 2014, 2015).
