My professional carrer started at age 14 when I was given the opportunity to teach ballet to a variety of levels. From this opportunity I knew I wanted to teach but was not sure what I wanted to teach. I decided to attend the University of North Carolina at Greensboro the year of 1999. I started off a dance major and ended up graduating with a NC teacher’s licensure. So currently I teach 8th grade Algebra in Greensboro, NC. During my pursuit of a degree, I became very interested in aerobics. I attend a variety of classes regularly. Then I was approached by the fitness director inquiring my interest in fitness. She encouraged me to try out for an assistant position for fall of 2000. I auditioned and became an assistant that next year. I assisted in a variety of classes from step to funk and yoga to isolated body part classes (abs lab and buttsngutts). In spring I was asked to teach a 60 minute kickboxing class. Due to my success with this particular class I was then asked to teach more. So I taught abs lab, funk, buttsngutts, yogalates, jump n jab and boxletics. I currently received my certification in cycle. I teach cycle along with other classes twice a week. I have taught at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro for five years now. I enjoy encouraging others to make a difference in their lives through fitness.
