Barbara Madison

I have been a registered nurse with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia since 1977.  I have had years of clinical hospital-based experience and provide proactive management experience as well.  I became a career agent for GE Financial Advisors in 2001 and quickly attained Master Agent status selling long term care insurance.  The experience of helping people plan for their long term care needs by exploring their options for receiving and funding care lead me to my current venture.  Since 2004 I have owned my own private duty home care company, Right at Home of St. Louis and employ over 250 people and manage over 3000 hours of home care weekly.  My office has been recognized in our franchise system for exceptional growth and leadership.

I am actively involved in the expanding and development of my industry and sit in the Board of Directors of the Missouri Alliance for Home Care and am a member of the Speaker's Bureau for the St. Louis Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.  I am a member of the National Private Duty Association and sit on several task forces in our state capital to address various topics regarding the needs of seniors and disabled in our state.  I am a participant on the panel of experts that speaks to the freshman legislators in our state government to educate and inform them about pertinent issues they will be facing as they embark on the current legislative session.

On a personal note, I have been divorced since 200 and have a grown daughter who lives in Connecticut with her husband and my two grandchildren.  Besides staying fit and judging boxing and MMA events, I love to travel and dabble in real estate.
