I played
USTA tennis at the Midwest level and
Nationally in the 12 and under division through the 18's. I was a
member of the Junior Wightman Cup. I played on a U.S.
tournament level team in Germany,
France, Holland,
Belgium and England at age 16 through Tennis:Europe. I had a full Scholarship in the Mid American
Conference at Ohio
University where I played
singles and doubles. My leadership roles at Ohio University
included Team Captain, Most Valuable Player and the Bobcat Award. I
have a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with an emphasis in
Social Studies from Ohio University, Athens,
Ohio.
I was a
tennis instructor at the Miami Tennis Camps in Oxford,
Ohio, a youth director on Royal Caribbean
Cruise Lines and an Assistant High School Tennis Coach at Worthington Christian
Schools in Worthington, Ohio.
My tennis teaching experience includes instructing all ages and levels in Columbus, Ohio and Indianapolis, Indiana.
I was the Tennis Director and Teaching Professional at the Courts of Northwest
Indiana in Valparaiso, Indiana where I taught and promoted tennis in the area
through marketing private lessons, programs, clinics and leagues as well as
Cardio Tennis. I have completed the Tennis
University course and
am Certified through the Professional Tennis Registry earning the
highest teaching rating. I am also a Tester for the Professional Tennis
Registry for the state of Indiana
where I am qualified to teach other tennis instructors
for professional certification. In March, 2009, I became the Head Women's
Tennis Coach at Valparaiso
University.
I was
asked to be a visiting tennis professional at a tennis resort in Jamaica in May, 2010 through the
Professional Tennis Registry and chosen to chaperone a coed tennis team from
the ages of 14-18 in Italy
through Tennis:Europe, in July 2010. I have
completed the R12 Coaching Curriculum through The Fellowship of Christian
Athletes in February, 2010. Also, this summer I will be focusing on recruiting
and managing a summer tennis camp in New Buffalo, Michigan.
