- Laura Nosek
Laura has been passionate about moving her body her whole life. She started dancing at the age of 3 and continued until age 15 when she started playing soccer, basketball, and volleyball competitively. Her interest in Yoga began 10 years ago with the study of Asthanga Yoga and has led her to a full-time career as a Pilates and Yoga instructor in the Chicago Area since 2002.
In 2002, Laura added Pilates to her movement repertoire and has studied and worked closely under the mentor-ship of Nationally recognized Pilates Master teacher Patrick O’Brien, founder and director of From the Center Pilates Studio in Chicago Illinois. Laura credits Patrick’s mentor-ship & coaching in her development and success in teaching movement full time. She continues to develop and refine her personal Yoga and Pilates practice to gain optimal integration for himself as well as his students.
Laura’s experience teaching yoga is founded on a combination of her personal practice of Iyengar and Ashtanga yoga and is more recently influenced by the Gentle and meditative style of nationally recognized anatomist and Yin Yoga expert Paul Grilley. Laura now lives in the suburbs of Chicago with her husband and two children. She feels like the Wheaton Sport Center is a logical addition to what he can offer her students as a teacher and himself as a life long student.
In addition, Laura is certified in all Pilates Apparatus, Mat and Standing Pilates. She is also certified in Muscle Activation Technique for Lower Body. After the birth of her second child in 2008, she became certified to teach pre and post natal pilates.
