I first fell in love with teaching fitness classes back in the early 80's!! Yes, we wore headbands and leg warmers :-) Fast forward 30 years and here I am still teaching classes and loving it. With that being said, my body has had its share of wear and tear and so I made the decision in 2008 to take a more gentle approach to fitness and focus on Yoga. Starting out small and attending workshops and slowly falling in love with Yoga and all it had given me. I took my 200 YTT in 2012 and intend to add more teacher training in the years to come. Yoga can be so gentle and meditative yet very powerful and crazy.
My classes are largely Vinyasa based as I believe in moving and feeling the flow. I also inject power into my practices as my training was primarily the Baptiste Power Flow. I love to include partnering in my classes as well as Yin and meditation. Given the opportunity and space, I love to do a walking meditation before a Vinyasa flow and the beach is a perfect place to include this into a practice.
Yoga has provided a perfect balance for my mind, body and spirit. It involves the three components of fitness which include: strength, endurance and flexibility. It is my privilege and my pleasure to teach my craft with guests from all over the world while vacationing in the Caribbean..... Hey who wouldn't!!
I recently retired as Continuing Care Assistant in my community. When not working or teaching classes I love to do other instructors classes :-) I also love to read, walk with my dog Oliver, garden, travel, hang out with Kevin, eat sushi with my girlfriends, drink wine and chin wag!!
