My yoga journey began at the age of eighteen when I saw a sign at the gym about yoga and mind-body connection. I did not know what that meant, but I was fascinated and determined to find out! I was looking for something more fulfilling than my long runs provided me...after a devastating break-up of an unhealthy relationship, that caused me to finally grieve my fathers death, I was looking for something to make me feel whole again, not just another addiction to fill the void. Yoga provided not only the most intense and complete full body workout I have ever had that helped me to find the weight that is healthy for me, but also a deep feeling of contentment and love for myself and my life, which I could extend out to everyone in my life. I began to feel alive and free again, able to do things I never thought I was capable of!
I knew after my first yoga class that I wanted to share this amazing experience with others! I believe that when someone finds something that lights them up, it is their responsibility to share it with the world~even if it starts with just one person.
Although I am a versatile teacher, I feel the most passionate about vinyasa yoga. I love the dance-like quality of the movements that energize and bring students into focus. It gives me the opportunity to express my creativity through coreography and making fun and relaxing play lists. I also excel at giving intuitive, loving hands-on assistance that helps students find their full potential and safety in poses. I have a soft voice, and am sweet, but don't let that fool you! I teach very challenging classes (when it is appropriate).
