Cara Unrue, E-RYT 500, is a full time yoga and meditation teacher and the owner of a thriving yoga school in Columbus, Ohio. She holds certifications in meditation and Yoga Nidra, Sound Healing (Level III), Thai Massage (Level II), Buti Yoga dance fitness, Reiki Level II, trauma informed yoga, group fitness, and strength and weights training. Cara is known for creating welcoming, intelligently sequenced classes that are both challenging and accessible, helping students of all levels feel successful and supported in their practice.
In addition to teaching, Cara operates Wild Root Yoga, a successful and rapidly growing yoga school that serves a large and devoted community. Her approach blends strong technical knowledge of movement and anatomy with mindfulness, meditation, and nervous system awareness. Resorts and retreat guests appreciate her ability to deliver classes that feel energizing, grounding, and memorable, while maintaining a warm and approachable presence that makes every participant feel comfortable, whether they are experienced yogis or stepping onto the mat for the first time.
Cara Unrue enjoys practicing and teaching yoga to all levels. She first sought out yoga for its physical fitness benefits, and quickly recognized all of the many other wonderful gifts that yoga has to offer. She believes every one can benefit from yoga in some way.
Currently Cara teaches in multiple schools to underprivileged and special needs children. She also enjoys teaching an upbeat vinyasa flow class several times a week and travels to multiple yoga studios all over the world to gain new insight and knowledge for her students and herself. Cara's other passions include photography, spending time with her family (her 7 year old daughter has a colorful practice of her own), and traveling with her husband.
