A fitness enthusiast, group fitness instructor, CEO and founder of Body Sculpt Barre Studio. Shelly has lived a life full of fitness that began in her early years with dance, gym, and competitive cheer. Her eagerness and activeness lead Shelly to spend the past twenty-one years experimenting with a variety of fitness programs and establishing an obsession in Pilates. As her professional life progressed as an elementary teacher, Shelly began looking for a new challenge that would fuse her passion of teaching and love of fitness, thus becoming a group fitness instructor. With an eagerness to try new innovative fitness programs to keep the body intrigued, she obtained a certification in Piloxing and Booty Barre training. After instructing body sculpting classes part-time, she decided to pursue her love of fitness by creating a fitness brand and opening Body Sculpt Barre Studio, offering the perfect opportunity for Shelly to merge her passion for teaching, leadership and fitness. Shelly then decided to franchise her brand and now holds 5 studio locations in Louisiana. Shelly has trained and certified over 50 instructors in various formats within her brand, including but not limited to, barre, barre brawl (kickboxing), barre-X (barre and trx), barrelates (barre fused with pilates), Accelerate and Elevate. In addition to her own brand and formats, Shelly holds several specialized group fitness certifications including but not limited to, mat pilates, pilates reformers, exo pilate chairs, trx, Pilates suspension training, POUND, barre, Kickboxing, core first and yoga.
Shelly's classes are created to infuse all fitness elements and streamline the best methods, to be both unique and challenging. You can expect a class that connects your body and mind, while toning and targeting muscle you didn't even know you had. Movements in class range from isometric to compound and slow burn to light impact cardio. Everything you need in an effective workout! New to her classes, shelly has incorporated movements of contemporary/power yoga (using traditional moves such as warriors, reverse warriors, chairs, planks, tree pose and good morning. These movements focus on breath and body alignment that compliment fine toning and strength while challenging and improving flexibility and balance.
