Being active has always been part of my life from swimming, gymnastics and bike riding as a child to running, exercise classes, hiking and biking as an adult. My first experience in a gym was as a teenager at Madmoiselle fitness where my best friend and I went through how to use the equipment in the gym and on our own and taking aerobics classes. While in Chiropractic college I continued attending gyms and taking aerobics classes such as step aerobics and kickboxing. As I raised my family, my time to exercise was limited and I found myself doing tapes in my basement or just being active with my children. About 16 years ago I began running with my husband (an avid runner) for a quick exercise and eventually started running with a friend several times a month. She introduced me to the 5k experience. At this time in our lives we also found ourselves taking a boot camp in the morning. It was at this point that my passion for exercise really occurred. (And my need to have some "mommy time with other adults" was fulfilled.) I was running a few mornings a week and taking boot camp classes a few mornings a week. Then I began teaching classes and helping others along their fitness road not only within in my chiropractic practice but now within my community.
