Carol Anne (CA) McGowan has been a yoga practitioner since the mid 1990’s, having dabbled in a variety of styles including hatha, yin, hot, and kundalini. When CA was first introduced to Ashtanga, she knew she found her “home.” Having fallen in love with the style, and wanting to further immerse herself in it, she began obtained the 200 RYT in May 2015 through the Hard and the Soft Yoga Institute. Shortly after obtaining her 200 RYT CA taught on a weekly and voluntary basis for the benefit of local charities. When COVID hit, CA taught 3-5 virtual classes a week, complimentary, to her professional colleagues to aid in mental health. After teaching for a few years, CA returned to obtain her 500 RYT, completed in March 2019. During these advanced studies there was increased focus on postures, yoga theory, anatomy, pranayama, meditation, nutrition, modifications, yoga nidra and much more. CA continues her education, to include both contact and non-contact hours. most recently with specialized courses in anatomy and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) which continue to allow her to evolve and adapt her teaching to suite the needs of students. CA has a passion for yoga which she loves nothing more than to share.
