Hello! My name is Jeanie Matthews. When our bodies are under stress we need to breathe, stretch, practice mindfulness, and receive massage to release imbalance.
In 2013, I found myself working for Zen Studios, Spartanburg, SC serving as a massage therapist. I fell in love with yoga's enlightenment path through asanas (poses) our body's way of detoxifying itself. I completed the studio's Yoga Alliance 200-hour Vinyasa and Yapana restorative yoga teacher training.
In 2016, I moved to beautiful Knoxville, TN where I continue to prioritize staying fit. I teach for yoga classes for personal and social change with the YMCAs of East Tennessee. For spiritual growth, I volunteer-teach a weekly yoga club, for the Immaculate Conception Women's Group. Over #saferathome, I added Ageless Grace - 21 Simple Tools for Brain Health classes as a way to keep in touch with my students, over Zoom classes.
