Bill Potoczny

Before becoming the Head Tennis Professional at the Penn State Tennis Center, Bill lead the Penn State's men's tennis team, as an interim coach, to a 3rd place finish in the Big Ten Tournament and number 1 Northeast regional ranking, along with a season high national ranking of 38. During his four year tenure as an assistant coach, he helped the team become a nationally ranked program.

Previous to his time at Penn State, Bill spent five years as the Director of Tennis at the Cape Coral Racket Club in Cape Coral, FL.

Bill played his collegiate tennis at the University of West Florida and was inducted into the university's Hall of Fame in 2002. He received both his Masters and Bachelor degree in Psychology.

As a junior player, Bill competed nationally in the USTA and won the American Tennis Association national singles championship. He was ranked number 1 in the Middle States section and was honored with the Arthur Ashe player of the year award in 1988.

Bill has taught players of all levels including All Big Ten athletes and world ranked juniors. He has coached the Middle States national team for boys and girls in Shreveport, LA.

Bill is in his third year as the Head Professional at Penn State; he is a certified USPTR tennis professional and brings years of experience to the Tennis Center.
