I am a junior at the University of Georgia where I am pursuing an
undergraduate degree in Health Promotion and Behavior.  I have completed
studies in Women’s Health, Health Consumerism, Public Health, Dietetics, and
Wellness.

I am certified as a Group Fitness Instructor by the Aerobics and Fitness
Association of America by completing training requirements for Group Fitness,
Basic Skills and Choreography, and Group Resistance Training.  I have been
working for more than two years as a Group Fitness Instructor at the University
of Georgia’s student recreation center teaching a variety of classes including
“Step and Sculpt,” ‘Triple Fit” and “Abs.”  During the summer of 2009, I also
taught a step class for the BodyPlex of Commerce, Georgia.  I work with various types of equipment including steps, body bars, bosus, stablilty balls, free weights, and elastic tubing, as well as gravity.

Additionally, I volunteer on a regular basis at the UGA Health Center
as a member of the  “In Sickness and In Health” Student Group and at the Athens
Council on Aging’s Adult Day Care Center.   Currently, I am completing a
practicum with the Partnering Ambassadors for Life and Service within the
Women to the World organization. For the months of February through April,
I am designing and implementing an introductory health and nutrition class for
women of the local community.
