Melissa has worked in the fitness industry for over twenty roles, training at different studios and gyms sharing her passion for fitness and wellness. She has taught at the collegiate level since 2007 and is currently a full-time Kinesiology Professor at Southwestern Christian University and teaches in the graduate college at Southern Nazarene University. Her courses range from Strength and Conditioning and Fitness Assessment.
She began personal training in 2001 and has continued this speciality now working part-time at a boutique gym where she holds a steady roster of personal training clients and group fitness classes. Her classes include Boot Camp, Tabata, and HIIT. She owned and operated the largest outdoor boot camp company in Oklahoma for several year. Melissa currently owns and manages SUPfit, which offers Yoga and boot camp style workouts on stand up paddleboards. These classes are mostly offered on the weekends at different lakes around Oklahoma City.
She has an earned Doctorate in her field and continues to each cycling and boot camp courses in Oklahoma City. She teaches a rhythm-based cycling classes that incorporates weight lifting providing a whole body workout. She also teaches boot camp at Oklahoma Athletics Association, which provides an all-inclusive, fun and challenging program.
