Heather Simonson

Heather Simonson, LMSW, ERYT-200 a Licensed Social Worker and AASECT Certified Sexuality Educator, is the founder of Sexuality Education and Counseling Services, an organization that empowers others to help build the foundation needed to embrace sexuality with pride and in a positive light. Heather’s background and experience enables her to use a truly holistic perspective by fusing eastern and western derived techniques throughout her teachings.

As an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher, specializing in prenatal and children's yoga, Heather is the founder and director of The Yoga Womb, Long Island's first Yoga Alliance approved and registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training.  Yoga has been a true gift in Heather’s life that she now shares with all. Teaching all throughout Long Island, in school settings, within the library circuit and yoga studios alike, Heather teaches adults, kids, seniors, those with special needs, as well as mom’s-to-be and baby and me.  

Heather is also a mother of 2 amazing children and has been raising them on yoga since in the womb. Yoga is what enabled her to have both of her children naturally through a beautiful non-medicated birthing experience. Heather’s children have been practicing with her since birth and she knows that the quality of their relationship, the strength in their character and their connection, is largely due to being a yoga family.
