Suffering from anxiety throughout most of her adolescent years, Emily finally found relief through yoga in the summer of 2006. By stepping onto her mat, focusing on physical movement and slowing down the breath, Emily's mind started to slow down too. Each time she stepped onto her mat she could feel a shift, feeling more sensation in her body and less over activity in her mind. Moving in a conscious way encouraged awareness, intuition and acceptance in her life. In the summer of 2009 Emily immersed herself in the teachings of yoga while living in the Berkshires. She completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training in Vinyasa and Hatha Yoga at Frog Lotus Studio. She is also a Certified Yoga Ed. PK-8 Teacher and Tools for Teachers facilitator. Emily holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Emmanuel College. She a liscenced teacher by the state of Massachusetts and has worked as a classroom teacher in Boston Public and Mendon-Upton Regional. She now teaches yoga full-time in studios and schools and couldn't be happier to share this gift! Yoga focuses on awakening the very essence of who we are. Emily is devoted to creating an atmosphere that encourages freedom - in movement & expression - cultivating playfulness and compassion. Emily is a Usui Reiki Master Teacher and incorporates healing and her knowledge of the chakras into her classes.
