Communications Specialist II - Future Yoga Instructor
Yamile Underwood has a Master‘s Degree in Medical and Public Health Translations from the University Jaume I in Valencia, Spain. She was awarded a Bachelor’s degree for teaching English as a Second Language in her native Argentina. She also holds a Graduate Certificate in English to Spanish/Spanish to English Translation from Georgia State University.
In 2004, Yamile worked as a Spanish Teacher in Virginia at a Montessori School and in Atlanta at the Atlanta International School. In 2012, she also taught as a Substitute Instructor at the College of Pharmacy and Health Science at Mercer University for a “Spanish for Pharmacists” course.
From 2009 to 2010 she worked as a free-lancer for CNN en Español as a Web Producer.
Yamile joined the MLS/CDC en Español team in July 2006, as a contractor for McKing Consulting. She was responsible for English to Spanish translations and certifications. In 2010 she joined Danya International as a Bilingual Health Information Specialist at the National Prevention Information Network. In May 2012, she returned to MLS as a Communications Specialist II.
Currently she is studying to become a yoga instructor.
