I have been practicing yoga for over 20 years and teaching since 2002. I teach vinyasa flow style classes at various studios in my area and I am also a Respiratory Therapist at a local hospital. I am currently studying to earn my Yoga Therapy certification and am working with a Yoga for Eating Disorders mentoring group.
I began taking yoga classes while in college and instantly connected with it and felt at home in my body in a way I had never experienced. It helped me feel more comfortable inside of my body after suffering from an eating disorder for over a decade, it reduced my anxiety, and opened me up to new possibilities in how I was living my life.
My intention is to give my students space to explore how they feel as they move through and hold postures and to develop their conscious awareness. My hope is that they begin to find comfort and ease in their bodies and truly find that innate connection between their mind and their body. I believe finding peace in the body helps to bring peace to the mind so that we can move through our daily lives with more calmness, joy, and compassion in our hearts. I love how yoga can allow us to let go of old thoughts and patterns that no longer serve our purpose or life and empower us with the realization we are ultimately the only ones with the power to choose and to create the life your soul has been longing for.
