Julia was raised in Boston, Massachusetts, where she would go on to attend Law School. She is In-House Counsel for the Office of the Sheriff, in North Carolina.
Julia discovered yoga in 2020, as a means to practice grounding and emotional regulation. She says it was the greatest gift she ever gave to herself and her family. Continuing on with her journey, Julia became a certified instructor in November of 2022.
Julia teaches at various studios in her community, classes include Hot-Power Yoga, Yin-Yasa and Vinyasa flow. She also became certified to teach Stand Up Paddle Yoga (one of her favorites) in August of 2023.
In March of 2024, Julia opened up her own studio, called Poolside Yoga Flow. This serene space offers inclusivity and acceptance of all levels of yogis. Practitioners are lead (in various leveled classes) surrounding her salt water pool, under the sunshine, while basking in all that nature has to offer. Julia also introduced yoga into the Pitt County Detention Center for women in recovery. Since starting the program in 2022, Julia recruited twelve other instructors to provide classes to women in detention. The women are now able to take classes weekly.
Julia has lead several yoga retreats in Asheville, North Carolina and was the visiting yoga instructor at Hilton La Romana, Dominican Republic, in February of 2023.
Julia loves to travel, serves on several local non-profit boards, and is mother to three kiddos and four fur babies.
