Emily Oberwetter

YOGA:

Emily is a 200-HR RYT with a specialization in Vinyasa flow yoga. She has dedicated herself to guiding students towards feeling fully grounded and mindful through physical movement.

Emily's love for physical activity began at a young age, when she played competitive tennis player for many years. This background in sports instilled in her a deep appreciation for the power of movement and its ability to create a sense of strength, balance, and focus. She discovered yoga through a book that she picked up at her elementary school book fair and soon began leading her family through classes at "The Yoga Plaza", which was based in her parents' bedroom.

After many years of practicing and quitting a stressful job, Emily earned her 200-Hour certification in Costa Rica, specializing in Vinyasa flow yoga, which combines fluid movement with breath awareness and mindfulness. With a deep appreciation of the transformative effect of yoga, Emily's ultimate goal is to guide her students towards self-awareness, inner peace, and groundedness both on and off the mat.

TENNIS:

Emily is a passionate tennis instructor with extensive experience in the sport. She has played tennis for fifteen years, including being part of a state-championship winning high school tennis team.

At the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Emily played on the club tennis team, which achieved an impressive 7th place at the National Championships. Her love for the game extends beyond her own achievements, as she was the head coach for a varsity girls' high school tennis team, instilling values of teamwork and sportsmanship. Additionally, Emily volunteered her time to teach tennis to children aged 10 and under, fostering a love for the sport from a young age.

With her technical expertise and supportive teaching style, Emily inspires and empowers tennis players of all ages to reach their full potential on and off the court.
