For as long as I can remember, I have incorporated fitness into my life.  I think the first workout video I used religiously was Cindy Crawford’s Shape Your Body Workout....circa 1992 and on VHS, of course!  I quietly, but quickly, turned my parent’s basement into my own personal work-out studio.  Living in a small mid-western town did not provide many gym options, so I had to create my own.    Workout videos (and eventually DVD’s) finally progressed into real live group exercise classes.  Step aerobics, and high low were staples, but for me, it was Spinning that made the most impact, as well as the one I kept returning to time and time again.  The pumping music, dark room, me + a bike; I just couldn’t get enough.  Spinning became an essential aspect to my workout routine.

I have been working as a registered nurse since 1999 in a variety of different settings.   It wasn’t until a few years ago when a little light bulb went off in my head:  I could do more to incorporate my nursing knowledge with my love of fitness!  I started by obtaining my Spinning certification and teaching one class at my local gym, Washington Sports Club.  This one Saturday Spinning class has morphed into more fitness formats and teaching opportunities.  Successfully, I have transitioned from a face in the crowd to the one who is facing the crowd motivating my gym members to give just a little more effort.

Though it has been a long time in the making, I finally made the big leap this past February to start my own health and wellness business.  I have been lucky enough to blend my nursing experience with my fitness experience to offer a creative approach to nutritional coaching.  I plan to continue on this path of improving the quality of the lives I encounter every day both near and far.
