I completed my first Fitbodies trip teaching yoga/pilates for a week (April 21-28, 2024) in the Dominican Republic at Dreams Dominicus La Romana. I had a wonderful experience all around and did not have any issues. The week before the trip I was contacted by Fitbodies to attend the orientation Zoom call and I was provided with helpful documentation about expectations and about the resort. The day before my arrival I was added to the WhatsApp group of the e-team at the resort which I used to communicate with the e-team leader. Check-in at the resort was a breeze. I was very happy with the room and its quiet location within the resort, which was towards the middle of the grounds but off the busy central pathway. That evening I met with the e-team leader and he walked me to the site of classes (on the pier over the water!) and to the locations of the mats & towels. He also showed me the back-up sites in case of rain or if an event was happening at the primary site. Even though the flyer that was created by Fitbodies described me as a group fitness instructor, the resort schedule had Yoga/Stretch as the listed activity. I decided to match their listing and taught yoga/pilates for the week. My schedule was to teach a 45-minute class each morning at 9:30am. There was also a Monday 5pm class. On most days there were 7-10 people, and on Monday and Saturday morning there were 15 people. The resort has 15 very thin mats and no other props or accessories, and no speaker. I brought my bluetooth speaker but ended up not using it because the natural sound of the ocean waves on the beach was lovely, plus I would’ve had to blast it at high volume to overcome the sound of the waves. Each day I had a nice routine where I would wake up, go to the Coco cafe to get a delicious coffee and then go to the Core Zone when it opened at 9am to get the mats. Then, I would get towels and go to the pier to set everything up. I made sure to chat with everyone before class to get an idea of where they were from and their experience level. Most had done a little yoga but sometimes I would get a newbie or an experienced yogi, so I kept the classes at a basic level and mixed up each class by varying how much yoga and pilates was done in a particular class. I also minimized giving in-depth descriptive cues and kept it simple and concise since English was typically the second language for most people. I love that I had the same 7 people who showed up everyday. Other participants happened to pass by or had only learned about the class on their last day. After class, I put the towels in the big dirty towel bin on the beach and returned the mats to the Core Zone. On Monday, I also did a 5pm class and for the other days I only had the morning class. This meant that I had the rest of the day to hang out at the beach/pool, do an excursion or activity (I did paddleboarding), and participate in some of the e-team activities like Bachata lessons, volleyball, painting, Zumba, bingo, and more. This was my first time at an all-inclusive beach resort. I was very happy with the friendliness of the staff. The nightly shows were great and the beach was fantastic. Swimming in the ocean was very nice as the temperature was perfect and it was all sand (no seaweed or rocks). Overall, the food at the resort was good, but not spectacular. The French restaurant, Bordeaux, was by far the best dinner option. The food at the buffet was hit or miss, but it had a good selection of food to where I could always find something delicious. I typically got food in the Dominican Corner section of the buffet because they had more flavor than the standard dishes. The omelet station was really good, as well as the salad station and fresh juice station. I didn’t drink too much alcohol, but their cocktails were nice and plentiful. The resort gym was very nice and had lots of cardio machines, resistance machines, and free weights. Overall, I had a wonderful time in all aspects of the trip. I posted this review with pics and videos on the Facebook group page. I would be happy to teach at Dreams Dominicus La Romana again, and I look forward to doing more trips with Fit Bodies!

Hotel staff was so friendly & accommodating. Always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. Staff was always smiling & kept positive attitudes...they were always "" excelente"" & made us feel ""excelente"" too! The E-team works very hard on all of their activities. They were very busy all the time & interacted with guests very well. They were all very friendly but had very little involvement with me or my class. The Kappa Club always sent someone at the end of class to help pick up towels & mats...I was responsible for getting mats, towels & waters before class.

TEACHING: The teaching set-up here is fantastic. I taught one 40-minute Yoga/Stretch class at 9:30 am every day on the covered pier surrounded by water on all four sides. Gorgeous! The resort does have mats available, but since the pier tends to get quite windy, I just used towels. The entertainment team here is extremely hands-off, so after meeting me on my first day, no one came to my classes or checked in in any way throughout the whole week (you need to pick up mats/towels for the class and drop them off yourself; I also always brought water bottles from the closest bar). I had 3-7 lovely participants every day. You should know that non-participants are often strolling onto the pier to take pictures and hang out, so it’s not a particularly private or “zen” environment for classes. RESORT PROS & CONS: The beach here is spectacular: walkable in both directions with crystal clear turquoise water (and, at least when I visited, no seaweed at all!). Well-equipped gym with incredible views. Fun nighttime entertainment in open-air areas around the resort every night (although if you need quiet to sleep, this is not your place – they play loud music easily until midnight every night!). Great (affordable!) treatments at the spa, although the facilities are nothing special. Pools are OK. The WiFi here is catastrophically bad and I had to use my cell signal the whole week, which was also very spotty (you absolutely cannot plan to livestream anything or take Zoom calls here!). The food is OK at best, compared to other (20+) resorts I’ve been to with Fit Bodies, and there are not enough dinner restaurants to dine in a different place for a whole week. Service is generally not up to par, again compared to other resorts – I called multiple times to get my towels refreshed and jacuzzi fixed but it never happened; I often didn’t get any service at the buffet for breakfast or lunch; and beverage service at the pools and beach is nearly non-existent. Another thing you should know is that due to the layout of the resort, there are less than 10 rooms out of 400+ that have any kind of ocean view. The rest are looking at pools or courtyards/landscaping, with many on the ground floor (since virtually all of the buildings are two stories max).

This was another great teaching vaca. I met with the E-team managers personally which was a nice touch. I really like the WhatsApp feature for prompt communication. Resort is beautiful and staff is very friendly and helpful. I taught one 30 minute Yoga class, 6-13 participants a day Towels were provided, and staff participated for some of the classes. Class is on the beach. Towels work best as mats.

All information is provided very quickly making it an easy booking, thanks! Yoga is on the pier over the water. Beautiful! Everything went smoothly. My husband helped me carry mats and towels, and a member of the Kappa Club usually joined the class and helped return the towels and we returned the mats. They asked the class only be 30 minutes, so I stuck with that from 9:30-10:00. The location on the pier was amazing! Dreams Dominicus was an amazing resort to teach yoga. One 30-minute class at 9:30am on the pier, awesome location! We picked up towels and the mats on our way out to the beach. 5-9 attendees each day, with several returners. The resort is beautiful, relatively narrow, but you can walk along the beach in one direction for quite a way. No seaweed, gentle waves, soft sand with very few rocks, a great setting for beach lovers. Several restaurants to choose and the buffet had a good variety of choices. The guest room was very clean and modern with nice balconies. Definitely a 5 star experience here! Thanks FitBodies!!

Class is held at the end of the pier, it's very dreamy. Very laid back resort. I prefer to have a little more shade around but managed without issue. Love these teaching opportunities!

My teaching vacation at Dreams Dominicus La Romana was absolutely amazing! Transfer from the airport and check-in were seamless. The resort was beautiful and clean, and my room and balcony were incredibly spacious. All staff were so welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The food and spa were spectacular. I taught 1 class at 9:30. The E-Team set up music for me every morning. I was told someone would help me with towels, but no one ever showed up. It was no big deal though. I found out where to get them and my companion helped me. I highly recommend this resort!!!

My group fitness classes were on the beach, with mats and towels. The Entertainment team announced my classes, I walked around and invited guests to join. Staff and guests were delightful. Truly enjoyed the energy. A smooth transition into the life we all deserve. I enjoy what I do and others do too. It’s nice to do it with FBI’s services. Excited for my next trip!

Nothing but amazing! The E Team Supervisor said someone would meet me at my class time to help me get towels. No one ever did, but I was able to figure it out, and it wasn't a big deal. Best experience I have ever had! Everything went smoothly! Classes went well and I enjoyed myself fully!!!

Just returned from a week stay at Dreams Dominicus. We usually travel to adult only properties, but this was a last minute decision and Dreams was available. The property and beach were absolutely beautiful. I was asked to teach a 30 minute class at 9:30 am every day. I asked to stay longer as I am a yoga instructor and 30 minutes is too quick. Because this is a Dreams property, there are a lot of activities constantly going on and all I can say is during the mediation part of class beach volleyball or bocce would have started around us. Participants loved the class and were very grateful. Also, when we were there 90% of the guests were from Europe..I know basic Spanish and French (up, down, right, left) nothing more than that... but the class moved very smoothly. Loved this area of the Dominican, took an afternoon taxi ride over to see Casa del Campa which is beautiful. Definitely recommend if you are traveling with an adult, not a kids activity. We have done the excursion to Samoa island before which is a wonderful trip especially if you are in LaRomana because it saves you the bus ride from Bavaro. Resort is beautiful, restaurants are good. You have the option to upgrade to preferred for a reasonable price, which gives you more options for eating. The Entertainment Team was good, but very busy with other activities. It's easy enough to pick up towels at the booth for your class, and set up. The E team did provide music from their speakers which is quiet music until 10, and then the active music begins as do all the other activities. Very easy teaching vacation for sure if that's something you are looking for.

The entertainment team was truly exceptional and treated us very well, like family. Can’t wait to book again!! Seriously loved my trip more than I expected. Teaching yoga on the beach is amazing! Amstar took us in a personal car, not hard to find and very easy.

I taught Barre on the Beach! They have Aerobic balls/Mats. I used my Computer connected to speaker. I loved The time to relax and rejuvenate, My classes, The beach! This was my 4th teaching vacation and it went very smoothly! I'll book again within 3-6 months! The entertainment team was highly energized and overall easy to work with! Fit Bodies is AWESOME! I have done 4 teaching vacations and am so lucky to have found them so that I can see the world while fulfilling my passion! The resort made everyone feel very safe with their covid precautions.

It was a very relaxed yoga class. 30 minutes. Between 8 and 30 participants, usually around 10-15 per day. The age varied between 30 years old and 75 years old.

I taught at this resort last year it is a nice teaching vacation you only need to do 1 class in the morning at 930 a 45 minute class is what you need to teach. I was flexible with the location of the class if there was something going on I just moved the class. I walked around with the yoga mats to advertise the class that really helped.

Yoga was scheduled to begin at 9 am each morning. Most of the attendees were from Europe and many don't speak any English. I would simply do a slow practice and they would follow along. I taught a slow flow with a long restorative posture to end the class. The staff was delightful and super helpful.

I taught at 9:30 for one hour and 4pm for 30 minutes every day. Mornings had 2-10 participants. Afternoons often cancelled for lack of participation but had 4-6 a few times. Students were super fun and friendly. Resort forgot almost every day to list yoga on their activity sheet. Or they called it "morning stretch" for 30 minutes followed by aerobics when it was actually an hour of morning yoga. This is a new resort. On the one hand, everything is clean and new. On the other, I felt like they weren't really sure why I was there. And the resort gift I brought at their request-- they seemed confused when I presented my items. So it was awkward at first. I suppose FitBodies is also new to them. I was frustrated when I gently encouraged them several times to ensure my classes were listed as taking place twice a day in the daily activity sheet -- and most days my classes weren't listed. Word of mouth allowed my class size to increase as time went on. And the entertainment staff and students literally couldn't have been any friendlier! They treated me always with kindness and enthusiasm. My guess is that the teaching experience will run smoothly once they have a little more experience with FitBodies instructors. The setting, teaching on the beach, was lovely. And the food was yummy. Lots of healthy options too. And the circus themed show is phenomenal!!! The FirBodies team prior to my visit was out of this world. Extraordinary responsiveness. Very organized. And despite some areas in need of improvement, it was a very enjoyable week and I was grateful for every moment that FitBodies allowed me and my friend to enjoy the warm sun and blue skies and friendly people. And teaching on the beach is a dream!

I visited Dreams Dominicus from Feb 5-12,2017. The resort is very new. The entertainment staff were very friendly. I was able to choose my schedule so I taught Essentrics from 930-1030 but could have taught two 30 minute classes in that time slot. I picked up my mats from the entertainment each morning and after the first 2 days they had my music set up for me- I would remind them each morning. We had a lovely shaded spot by the beach but in clear view so people could see us in. One morning the beach was closed for a photo shoot so I taught in their gym. The gym has an adjacent terrace which is perfect for classes. We enjoyed the food but out favourite spot was the Seaside Grill- no reservations required. We loved that they had a 24 hour cafe too. The resort has construction taking place across the street and to one side but we didn't really notice it. Our room was gorgeous, a beautiful junior suite with tons of space and a private deck. There are lots of different spots around this intimate resort depending on what you want- a relaxing pool, a livelier pool and a party pool near the swim up bar. This was my first teaching vacation and I really enjoyed it. The resort had a mix of ages - families and older couples. Wonderful staff, lovely rooms, really.nice amenities. We would come back.
